1999                 Consultant for 'Cowi Consulting' and the National Ministry of Hydrology in Dakar, Senegal.

2001                 Consultant at the Geographic Resource Analysis & Science (GRAS) A/S.

2004                 Post doctoral research position at IGUC.

2007                 Assistant professor at IGUC.

Recent, selected scientific projects and activities:

1996:             Participation in fieldwork activities within to the scientific research programme SEREIN (Sahel-Sudan Environmental Research Initiative) in Burkina Faso.

2001:             Responsible for development of a field work test site in semi-arid Senegal. Extensive field campaigns are planned and conducted resulting in a 5+ year unique data series of radiation parameters for vegetation indices, flux estimates and various standard agro-climatological measurements.

2002:             Affiliated the Numerical Terradynamic Simulation Group (NTSG), School of Forestry, University of Montana, USA.

2004:             Member of the international peer review group for Remote Sensing of Environment, International Journal of Remote Sensing and IEEE Transactions of Geoscience Remote Sensing.

2005:             Affiliated NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center at Earth Sciences Technology Center and University of Maryland, USA.

2005:             Affiliated Department of Geography, University of Boston, USA.

2006:             Coordinator of a 3 year project; “Developing new methodologies for agricultural and rangeland applications in the tropics based on new generation satellite data” based in Kenya.

Current research areas:

·         Assessment of Primary Production and agro-hydrological variables using Earth Observation data.

·         Natural resource management using Earth Observation data.

Current teaching areas:

·         Advanced Remote Rensing of the Bio-Geosphere
