Propeller system fault diagnosed

The expedition ship VÆDDEREN was dry docked in Stavanger on Monday.  Water was fully drained from the dock in the evening, slightly later than expected.  An overnight inspection of the propeller hub revealed a loose o-ring and by this morning engineers had identified faulty seals in the hydraulic system which controls the propeller blades’ pitch.

The problem is being worked on and the expectation is for VÆDDEREN to leave dry dock and for Galathea 3 to continue course for the Faeroes this evening.
