Working Experience

Since 1997 to present - Information and Resources Officer & Project Manager at Centre for Tropical Ecosystems Research (cenTER Aarhus)

Day to day management and administration of cenTER's overseas development projects (see project list at the end).

Responsible for writing, editing and design of large publications (Reports to Grant Authorities, Conference Proceedings etc.), Planning and organising of International Conferences at Aarhus University and

Consultant for the Danish International Development Assistance (Danida), The World Bank, Danish Red Cross. Consultancies have been: (1) to design resource management projects & design capacity-development projects, (2) to evaluate large-scale forestry projects, (3) to set-up and working procedures for project implementation (e.g. reporting systems, financial management systems) and (4) to manage and implement a global effort to develop a code of conduct for sustainable mangrove utilization and management

 

Teaching experience

Curse Organiser and Teacher (Project Management) on “Tropical Ecosystems; Management and Development” at University of Aarhus, Denmark.

Danish-SE Asian Collaboration in Tropical Coastal Ecosystems Research and Training (Denmark, Thailand and Malaysia) TCE-Project. Funded by DANCED, October 1996 - October 1999 (Extension Phase until 30 June 2000).

University Aarhus University - Can Tho University Link in Environmental Sciences (Development, Education and Research). Funded by Danida, Phase 1 July 1999 – April 2000. Phase 2 (Januar2001 – December 2005) approved by Danida, October 2000. Extension until December 2009 approved January 2006.

Development of Environmental Indicators, Lower Mekong Delta, Vietnam. Funded by the World Bank (via Danida trust funds), May 1998 - January 1999 (cenTER managed, Project Manager, Donald J. Macintosh).

Living Aquatic Resources - management and knowledge base. 2000 - 2003. Funded by the Danida Research Council. Involved Institutions: Institute for Fisheries Management and Coastal Community Development (IFM), Danish Institute for Fisheries Research (DIFRES) & Centre for Tropical Ecosystems Research, University of Aarhus (cenTER).

Integrated Tropical Coastal Zone Management at Asian Institute of Technology. 1 January 2000- 31 December 2004. Funded by Danida. By a Danish Consortium consisting of: Aarhus University (cenTER) in association with DHI Water & Environment, National Environmental Research Institute of Denmark (NERI) and Institute for Fisheries Management and Coastal Community Development (IFM).

Review of Mangrove Conservation and Biodiversity (MCB). The objective is to develop a report that can act as a resource document that would complement subsequent case studies towards the development of a generic Code of Conduct for Mangrove Conservation and Biodiversity protection.

Support to Marine Protected Areas Network, Vietnam (MPA). Funded by Danida. Implemented by NIRAS. 2003 - 2006.
